You Are An Asset Builder!

The developmental assets relate, both directly and indirectly, to family life and parenting.  Direct assets are named within the External Assets Category, such as positive family communication, parent involvement in schools, high expectations, and time at home. Indirect assets include modeling, advocating for youth, seeing youth as resources, and many more. No one asset is better than another and more often than not one action may build more than one asset. They all add up! As a parent or guardian, you are probably already building assets in your child without recognizing it.  Now is the time to make asset building INTENTIONAL in everything you do for your family, work and yourself.  As a youth, you have the power to build assets within yourself, your family and your peers. Assets provide you the resources to succeed, help others and overcome life's challenges. You will find asset building to be a way of life.
